SignalLoc v 1.0 - Build 1.0.1401 - Released March 24 2010
Fixed issues with cell site detection method.

Just upgraded it and reboot my phone as per the request of the install, and unfortunately there is no change, still getting the same results :-(

So far I've tried 3 different vers of the operating system: Bell's latest, AT&T's latest, and the one I'm currently running: the latest one available for the 9700 from Zain. Been experiencing this issue with all 3, although I've been switching them due to unrelated issues.

What does your "screen tag" say on your phone? ie: on the main screen of your phone, it says something like "Bell Mobility"?

What is the MCC-MNC shown?

The screen tag says AT&T.

The MMC-MNC from your app says the following: 302-880

Hmmmm. From the main SignalLoc screen, open the menu and select Network Details. Are all the fields present? Can you list them here?

That MCC-MNC is a shared network between Bell and Telus, so it's something unique. In the SignalLoc ""Network Details" screen are the "MNC" and "Home MNC" the same number? (Or in Cellumap in "Connection Info" screen does it say "Roaming: Yes/No"?)

Have you tried a Telus SIM card? I think either the Bell/Telus network isn't broadcasting a network name and/or it's missing from the SIM card (altho strange why would Bell issue a SIM card without their own network name on it?...well, ok, shared network name). Unless Bell/Telus changes something in their network or on their SIM, things will stay like this.

...and I assume your phone is then AT&T branded? (ie: was origninally sold by AT&T?) hence the AT&T screen tag?

Nothing happens whenever I attempt to open the "Network Details" screen while I am using the Bell SIM card.

As mentioned above, can't get to the "Network Details" screen from Signalloc. In Cellumap under "Connection Info" it says "Roaming: No"

Yes, I actually have a globe in my living-room for being a part of the build of the HSPA network, so I'm well aware of it being shared between the two (worked along with Telus on it while I worked for Bell at the time) ;-)

Anyhow, I don't have a Telus card, I only have an AT&T one which doesn't work outside of the US, a Bell one and a Rogers one. Either way, I'm not concerned with the network name. I'm just trying to get Signalloc to work again at all, as I' found that app extremely handy while it worked :-D

You are correct.

My 9700 on Telus HSPA does the same thing.. I had a 8330 which was CDMA, and it did work quite nicely.

i went to the US over the weekend, and signalloc worked properly on my Telus 9700.. was on the AT&T network, so it looks like Telus (and Bell) just don't report properly on HSPA+
